The Crusades were a dangerous time for Christians and other people interested in Jerusalem. All of the Crusades were not very successful because so many people and children died. The Crusades spanned from 1096 - 1272. This was a long time for the people who lived in the Middle Ages to fight. Most who fought were not given proper equipment, weapons, shelter and food. It was a hard life without reward.
